Professor Bruce Patterson (quintessential uptight Brit Terry-Thomas) continuously has to keep beating off his female students with a stick. When he decides to lease the apartment of his fiancée Helen (Celeste Holm) while she is abroad, complications ensue when her teenage daughter Libby (Tuesday Weld) decides to visit.
