In April, the Dryden celebrates the sometimes mad, but always fascinating and brilliant cinema of American director David Lynch. This series will contrast three of Lynch’s bigger budgeted, yet still personal studio pictures: The Elephant Man (April 1), Dune (April 8), and The Straight Story (April 29) with two of his most idiosyncratic independent productions: Inland Empire (April 18) and Lost Highway (April 22).
The artist at work will be featured on April 15 in the Rochester Premiere of Lynch, a new documentary that shows David Lynch directing Inland Empire, creating sculpture, and delivering a video blog for his website, among other activities.
