Every Wednesday in March we’ll present a classic film from the Master of Suspense, starting with Hitch’s first film set in the US, the spy saga Saboteur (March 5). Another espionage thriller, this time set against the backdrop of the Cold War, Torn Curtain (March 12) stars Paul Newman and Julie Andrews. I Confess (March 19) combines two of Hitchcock’s favorite themes: Catholic guilt and the persecution of the wrongly accused; and 1972’s Frenzy (March 26) revisits the “wrong man” theme with a graphic permissiveness newly available to the great director.
