In the first of these two cult classics, collaborations between Henson’s Muppet organization and conceptual designer Brian Froud, Jen, a Gelfling, begins a long, heroic journey to restore a missing shard to the Dark Crystal. If he fails, the evil Skekses will control the universe. Then, in the Terry Jones-scripted Labyrinth, 15-year-old Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) must rescue her baby brother from an otherworld ruled by the King of the Goblins (David Bowie, who also performs several songs). Two films for one admission price.
