(Albert Birney & Jon Moses, US 2010, 74 min)
Ring in the new year with an encore presentation of the strangest — and most tuneful —folk avant-garde dispatch of recent years. Made locally with a discarded camera by Dryden mavens Albert Birney and Jon Moses, The Beast Pageant moves from the depths of industrial oppression to the elation of nature and its mischievous forest spirits. Other ingredients: Zeke the singing cowboy, tuna, hammers, dancin’ trees, and copious artistic nudity.
