Jean Gabin stars as Max, a big-time gangster hoping to retire after one final heist in this tough French noir whose title translates as “hands off the loot.” Jeanne Moreau, in an early role, plays a showgirl who betrays one of Max’s gang. Preceding the feature, Bruce Goldstein, founder and co-president of Rialto Pictures, will present a 20-minute reel of stylish trailers for many of Rialto’s important re-releases.
