When a chain of Chicago supermarkets announces the opening of a new location, one store assistant (Seann William Scott) vies for promotion to head manager. His main competition is a determined Canadian with drug problems (the hilarious John C. Reilly), and the two men embark on a brutally funny battle for the job. Conrad, author of the screenplays for The Pursuit of Happyness and The Weather Man, directs with a sharp satiric eye and the supporting cast includes Fred Armisen, Jenna Fischer, Lili Taylor, and Jason Bateman.
