(Stanley Donen, UK 1969, 100 min., 35mm)
In this landmark comedy/drama, iconic British actors Rex Harrison and Richard Burton play an aging, bickering gay couple! Charles (Harrison) and Harry (Burton) are hairdressers in a London West End salon who have been living together for more than 20 years. The relationship takes a sour turn when Harry is forced to care for his nasty, ailing mother (Cathleen Nesbitt). This unusual departure for the cast and director Donen (Singin’ in the Rain, Two for the Road) features a lovely jazz score by actor and musician Dudley Moore. A new 35mm print courtesy of 20th Century Fox will be shown. For ticket information on all ImageOut films, call (585) 271-2640 or visit www.imageout.org. No Take-10 tickets or passes.
