Jackie (Kate Dickie) is a security officer at Red Road, a low-rent, high-rise apartment block in Glasgow, Scotland. While monitoring a high-tech bank of video monitors around the complex, Jackie is disturbed to discover that Clyde (Tony Curran), an ex-convict responsible for a great trauma in her past, has moved into Red Road. With an unstoppable single-mindedness, Jackie begins stalking Clyde, determined to infiltrate his personal life. Her mysterious purpose and motivations are ultimately revealed in this psychologically complex and enormously suspenseful debut feature from talented new director Andrea Arnold. Red Road won the Jury Prize at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival.
