Years before Borat, legendary media hoaxer Alan Abel pranked numerous radio and television chat shows with stunts that promoted such bogus organizations as the Society for Indecency to Naked Animals, Euthanasia Cruises, and the KKK Symphony Orchestra. Scorned by some as a menace to the media, Abel’s true story is told for the first time in this new documentary by his daughter, Jenny. She reflects on what it was like growing up the daughter of a professional prankster, and follows her father on the road during his most recent hoax. Funny and pointed, the film ultimately reminds us that we shouldn’t believe everything we see, hear, and read.
