Odd Couples. After making his film debut in this action comedy, Eddie Murphy became one of the biggest box-office draws of the ’80s. He’s hilarious as a convict recruited to help catch a killer, but this is a buddy comedy in the truest sense. The casting of Nick Nolte as his gruff partner brings out the very best in Murphy.
