Tramp, Tramp, Tramp (Harry Edwards, US 1926, 62 min.) and Counsel On De Fence (Arthur Ripley, US 1934, 20 min.)

The weirdly innocent Harry Langdon, one of the “Great Four” silent comedians (alongside Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Harold Lloyd) appears as a befuddled contestant in a cross-country walking race in Tramp, Tramp, Tramp, written (and partially directed) by Frank Capra and co-starring Joan Crawford in one of her first roles. This will be followed by one of Langdon’s rarely seen talkie shorts, the riotous Counsel on De Fence, a spoof of 1930s courtroom dramas. Live piano accompaniment by Philip C. Carli.
