This three-part 2004 anthology of erotic stories concludes with the final work of Italian master Michelangelo Antonioni, whose segment “The Dangerous Thread of Things” is drawn from his book That Bowling Alley on the Tiber. Wong’s marvelous “The Hand” is a visually exquisite period piece about a prostitute (Gong Li) and her tailor (Chang Chen). Soderbergh’s “Equilibrium” is a satirical piece set in the 1950s starring Alan Arkin and Robert Downey Jr. Preceded by Antonioni’s penultimate work, MICHELANGELO EYE TO EYE (LO SGUARDO DI MICHELANGELO, Italy 2004, 20 min., 35mm).

A collection of shorts, commercials, and other rarities from the vaults of Jim Henson. Highlights include an industrial film for Wilson’s Meat that must be seen to be believed, excerpts from experimental TV programs like The Cube and Youth 68, and the experimental short film Time Piece that showcases Henson’s talent for making music out of everyday sounds.

Japanese filmmaker Teshigahara orchestrates a beautiful exploration of several buildings and a park designed by the Catalan architect Antonio Gaudí (1852–1926). Avoiding voiceover and interviews, Teshigahara provides historical information through titles that barely disrupt the enveloping beauty of the images. Back by popular demand, this is a must for anyone interested in architecture.
